You Sing It – Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 21, 2026

You Sing It (“YSI,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our websites, applications, dashboards, artist pages, and related services (the “Platform”).

The Platform may be operated in different environments; some features depend on optional integrations configured for your deployment (for example email, SMS, or media hosting). Where a feature is not configured, we may not collect or process the related data.

1. Information we collect

1.1 You provide

Examples include:

  • Account and profile: name, email, password (stored via our authentication provider), phone number when collected, artist display name, public slug, bios, links, and images you upload.
  • Artist content: playlists, songs, events, templates, venues, messages you compose, and fan/marketing lists you build (including fan contact details you import or collect with consent).
  • Fan activity: song requests, tips, optional messages to artists, and marketing preferences (such as email/SMS opt-ins where the feature is available).
  • Payments: we do not store full payment card numbers on YSI servers. Card entry and storage are handled by Stripe. We may store Stripe identifiers (such as customer, subscription, or payment intent IDs), payout-related metadata, and encrypted references to connected payout accounts when artists link Stripe.

1.2 Automatic / technical

Examples include:

  • Auth cookies: our stack uses cookies (and similar mechanisms) managed by Supabase to keep you signed in and secure sessions.
  • Operational cookies and storage: for example first-party cookies to limit abuse on anonymous flows, and browser localStorage or sessionStorage for UI preferences (such as theme) where used.
  • Localization: we may derive an approximate country or currency default using your network request (for example headers from a hosting/CDN) or optional IP-based lookup, and — only if you allow it in the browser — device geolocation to improve localization (for example on tip or signup flows).
  • Security and reliability: server logs, error reports, and (where enabled) sign-in history for administrative and security purposes.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Platform
  • Process tips, subscriptions, payouts, and related support
  • Send transactional messages (for example receipts or account notices) via your deployment’s email/SMS configuration
  • Deliver artist-initiated marketing where permitted by law and your settings
  • Detect, investigate, and help prevent fraud, abuse, or technical issues
  • Comply with law and enforce our terms and policies

3. How we share information

3.1 Public and between users

Information you place on a public artist page (for example name, images, events, and similar) may be visible to visitors. Artists may see fan-provided request or tip details as designed in the product.

3.2 Service providers

We use subprocessors to run the Platform, including (depending on configuration):

  • Supabase (authentication, database, and related infrastructure)
  • Stripe (payments, billing, and Stripe Connect for artist payouts)
  • Cloudinary (image and media hosting when configured)
  • Twilio (SMS when SMS features and credentials are configured)
  • SMTP email (outbound email through your deployment’s mail server settings when configured)
  • Spotify (only if you use Spotify connection or search features—subject to Spotify’s terms and privacy policy)
  • Hosting/CDN providers that process requests and may log technical data (such as IP addresses)

3.3 Legal

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, the public, or YSI.

4. Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Platform, meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods can vary by data type and jurisdiction.

5. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No online service is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain uses (where processing is consent-based).

You can manage much of your information in the Platform (account/profile settings, fan marketing preferences where available, and billing self-service through Stripe where applicable). For other requests, contact us through the support channels or contact information configured for your deployment.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and limited abuse prevention. You may control cookies through your browser; disabling cookies may limit sign-in or certain features.

8. Children

The Platform is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

9. International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including where our vendors operate (for example the United States). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post updates on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated through the Platform or by email where appropriate.

11. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent through the Platform’s support channels or to the support email address configured for your deployment (if displayed in-app).
